Thursday Afternoon Excursion

The excursion will cover the Capilano Suspension Bridge over the Capilano Canyon, then take the Skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain and amazing views over Vancouver, the coastal mountains and the Gulf Islands. The excursion concludes with a cruise of Vancouver Harbour on the Paddlewheeler. You must register for this excursion on your registration form to get our special group discount. You will be picked up at the conference and brought back early in the evening (around 7:30pm)

- Bard on the Beach, Vancouver's Shakespeare festival, will be performing Henry V and The Twelfth Night. You may wish to purchase tickets for Wednesday evening or after the conference.
- Arts Club Theatre presents Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap
- The Dragon Boat Festival is June 21-23, for those arriving in Vancouver early
- the Vancouver International Jazz Festival runs from June 21-July 1
- Tax refunds of GST are available for visitors to Canada. You may get this refund as you leave Vancouver International Airport.
- Vancouver Dining, Zagat's Guide to Vancouver, Vancouver Magazine's 12th Annual Restaurant Awards (2001), Vancouver Magazine's 13th Annual Restaurant Awards (2002), on-campus meals, and some restaurants near UBC. Not necessarily endorsed by BEACH 2002.
- Attractions on campus.
- Vancouver Aquarium and Marine Science Centre, Science World, Vancouver Museum, Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Vancouver Space Centre.
- Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation -- highlights include Van Dusen Botanical Gardens, Queen Elizabeth Park Gardens, and Stanley Park, which is North America's third largest urban park (over 1000 acres).
