Thursday Afternoon ExcursionThe excursion will cover the Capilano Suspension Bridge over the Capilano Canyon, then take the Skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain and amazing views over Vancouver, the coastal mountains and the Gulf Islands. The excursion concludes with a cruise of Vancouver Harbour on the Paddlewheeler. You must register for this excursion on your registration form to get our special group discount. You will be picked up at the conference and brought back early in the evening (around 7:30pm) Tourism Links and Information- Attractions and Recreation at UBC - Live at UBC Exhibits, art, concerts, and events on campus at UBC from June 20-July 1, 2002 - Tourism Vancouver, Tourism BC, BC Passport, BC Travel, BC Ferries, and Vancouver Public Transit. - Currency Conversion, updated daily Monday to Friday by UBC Commerce. - UBC Museum of Anthropology, the location of the banquet at the end of the conference. - Granville Island has a variety of good restaurants for evening dinners, as well as a number of arts venues for music, live theatre and music, roving street performers, and boat departures. - Bard on the Beach, Vancouver's Shakespeare festival, will be performing Henry V and The Twelfth Night. You may wish to purchase tickets for Wednesday evening or after the conference. - Arts Club Theatre presents Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap - The Dragon Boat Festival is June 21-23, for those arriving in Vancouver early - the Vancouver International Jazz Festival runs from June 21-July 1 - Tax refunds of GST are available for visitors to Canada. You may get this refund as you leave Vancouver International Airport. - Vancouver Dining, Zagat's Guide to Vancouver, Vancouver Magazine's 12th Annual Restaurant Awards (2001), Vancouver Magazine's 13th Annual Restaurant Awards (2002), on-campus meals, and some restaurants near UBC.
